Oklahoma coach Charlie Strong told the team that he expects them to win a big game against Baylor, according to sources.
Strong told them, “You’re going to win one of the grand slams.”
The Sooners, who won the Big Eight and the Big Ten this past season, have a 1-5 record in the Big XII.
Oklahoma is coming off a 31-24 loss to Iowa State.
Strong said the Sooners have a chance to win the Big East title, but he didn’t offer any specifics.
The Sooner’s Big 12 tournament resumes in Austin, Texas, on Jan. 6 and is set to feature eight games, including the Big 8, Big 12, and Pac-12 tournament games.
Strong has said Oklahoma would not be able to play in the Pac-10.
The Big 12 is currently slated to play four Big 12 tournaments this year, which would include the Pac 12 title game.
Strong also said Oklahoma has the option to play at a conference tournament in Texas, and that it would not consider playing in the conference tournament if it did.
Strong is expected to be fired on Monday, according the Associated Press.
