The National Basketball Association Tournament kicks off this week with four of the four best teams from each conference competing in the first major event of the year.
The Big 12 is the best in the nation with the Big East and the Pac-12, but the ACC is second with three teams.
The ACC has the biggest margin of victory in the tournament with six games in the final, the biggest of any conference.

The conference with the best records in the Big 12 has won the tournament four times, including two NCAA Tournament appearances, and the conference with fewer wins than its total wins in the last two seasons is undefeated.
The Big 12 Conference has the most conference tournament wins in college basketball history with eight (seven from the Big 10) and the only conference with at least five NCAA Tournament wins is the Big Sky Conference.

The conference with one NCAA Tournament appearance and no conference tournament games is the SEC.
The SEC has never won a conference tournament game.
The other three conferences have lost at least three games in conference play in the past five years.
